Into the Still: Yin Yoga for Winter

Embrace the quiet beauty of winter with a soothing Yin Yoga workshop to restore, release, and renew. Through long-held postures and deep stillness, this practice eases tension, opens the body and emotions, and cultivates inner clarity, balance, and vitality to carry you through the season gracefully. Amid daily pressures and external intensity, Yin invites slowing down—lingering in poses with breath and sensation to settle the mind, downshift the nervous system, building resiliency you can take beyond the mat.

We’ll close with a short Yoga Nidra meditation to anchor these benefits.

Yin yoga is a slow, meditative practice that uses long-held, mostly floor-based postures to gently work the deep connective tissues supporting flexibility, joint health, and nervous system regulation. By organizing many poses along meridian pathways linked to the internal organs, Yin applies intentional compression and release that is understood to balance energetic flow and harmonize the body’s internal landscape, fostering equanimity, steadiness, and an overall sense of coherence throughout the body–mind system.

COST:  $35 ($40 day if space allows)

Red Clover Ranch Yoga Retreat
October 22–25, 2026
Soldiers Grove, Wisconsin

The Retreat
Celebrate the harvest and the changing of the seasons at Red Clover Ranch, nestled among black cabins, blazing trees, and the soft folds of Wisconsin’s Driftless hills. As autumn turns the land to gold and ember, we’ll gather to slow down, listen inward, and set our intentions for the coming season before we move toward a new year.

Over four days we’ll weave yoga, meditation, and spacious rest with the elements of the ranch: fiery fall colors, hot sauna sessions, cold plunges in the biodynamic pool, and long exhale walks under the canopy of trees and undulating hills. We’ll share sustainable farm-to-table meals, lovingly prepared from local, seasonal ingredients, nourishing the body as we tend the heart.

Intentional Creative Practice
Together we’ll create “shields” — personal totems made from intention and collaged images — as physical reminders to carry our prayers and commitments home. We’ll work within an ancient 20-count matrix, a living framework I’ve been in relationship with for over a decade, to ground our visions in something timeless and true.

This practice invites you to meet the changing season with clarity and courage, so your inner landscape can align with the turning of the land around you.

Land, Food, and Rest
Nestled in a valley on 79 acres of woodland and pasture, Red Clover Ranch is a place where community, creativity, and nature come together. Cozy cabins, a Japanese- and Scandinavian-inspired bathhouse, and a lovingly restored barn create a welcoming container for deep rest and connection.

From sauna and outdoor shower to biodynamic water and night skies, the land itself becomes part of the practice. Meals are seasonal, farm-to-table, and sourced from local growers in the Driftless region, a landscape known for its organic farms, wild beauty, and unglaciated ridges and valleys.

As the days soften into evening, we’ll gather near the red barn — its warm glow against the twilight — to reflect, integrate, and honor the circle we’ve created. Surrounded by trees, cabins, and open sky, this retreat invites you to come home to yourself and to the land, held between the turning of the leaves and the promise of the year to come.
