Private Sessions: a real-life example
T. & J. first reached out after moving into a new house and struggling with something that seemed simple on the surface: they couldn’t figure out how to place their furniture. An oddly placed door and the general feel of the home made it hard to settle, and underneath it all was a quieter knowing that something wasn’t quite right.
On their very first day in the house, they discovered mold. That discovery triggered a wave of panic in J.’s system, and through somatic work she was able to trace that response back to a much older pattern: since leaving her childhood home decades earlier, she had never fully unpacked her boxes, hung her art, or truly let herself put down roots.
That realization opened something much deeper. What first looked like a design problem became an inquiry into safety, belonging, and what it would mean to create a home that could genuinely support their family, their relationship, and their work.
Together, we created an altar to represent their family and call in what they wanted to cultivate as a couple and as parents. We also built a matrix to help them clarify what aligned housing would look and feel like, and they learned to muscle test each home before going to see it.
As the mold issue unfolded and the landlord remained reluctant to address it, it became clear that this was not the home they were meant to stay in. Rather than pouring their energy into making an unworkable space livable, they chose to listen more closely and put their efforts toward finding the right home.
Within a few weeks of doing this work, they found the perfect home for their family. They introduced themselves not only to the real estate team, but to the home and the land. They now live in a space with room to grow, and both say that the work they’re doing professionally would not have been possible without the clarity that came from being rooted and settled in a home that truly supports them.
With that foundation in place, their attention is now turning toward expanding their practices and creative work. More recently, we went through their closets, cleaned old items (and identities) out, cleared their home energetically and selected new colors for their bedroom and offices to reflect the feelings they want to cultivate in each space, so that every room continues to support the life they’re choosing next.
These sessions often help people feel safer in their own space, more grounded in their bodies, and clearer about how they want to move through a transition.
“I had a moment of panic in my home, and through somatic work I was able to trace it back to a twenty‑year pattern of never fully unpacking, hanging my art, or putting down roots. Seeing that clearly opened the door to a different way of being—one where making a home and tending a stable, open space could support my family and my creative work.” — J.
“The work we’re doing professionally wouldn’t have been possible without the clarity that came from being rooted and settled in a home that truly supports us.” — T. & J.
“There is a grounded, loving, no‑bullshit quality to Paige. She pierces through the fog in a way that’s confronting but loving, and somehow makes the truth feel obvious.” — T.
